Overview Abacus Technology is seeking a Database Administrator to provide database management and support for the US Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) in Quantico. This is a full-time position. Responsibilities
Install, manage, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL in support of multiple applications.
Qualifications 5+ years experience in database administration and management. Bachelor's degree in a related field desired. Must hold a Security+ CE certification (or equivalent certification in compliance with DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II). Strong knowledge and experience with MS SQL Server and Oracle databases and application server administration. Experience with the following tools and technologies: SQL; PL/SQL; T-SQL; MS SQL Server 2016 database and newer; Oracle 12c and newer; and Windows Server 2019 and newer. Experience working with Linux/UNIX servers desired. Experience with the evaluation and implementation of DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Security Requirements Guidance (SRGs). Experience implementing and maintaining highly available databases through various technologies, to include Microsoft Windows Failover Clustering, SQL Always On Availability Groups, or Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC). Experience with disaster recovery, to include implementing and testing backups of managed databases. Experience operating and maintaining front end application servers, to include Apache Tomcat or Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS), or Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) desired. Experience with scripting via BASH or PowerShell desired. Experience managing database backups with CommVault preferred. Experience with projecting long-range requirements for database administration in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function as well as business function managers. Experience working with DoD IT environment and networks. Must have good communication skills and an ability to conceptualize experience within database relationships using diagrams and explain how databases interact with one another. Able to work independently or as part of a team and interact professionally within all levels of an organization. Must be a US citizen and hold a Top Secret clearance with SCI access or eligibility (TS/SCI).
