POSITION OVERVIEW: The Portfolio Manager will manage an existing loan portfolio and work to grow the bank's loan portfolio while maintaining a strong credit quality and building solid relationships with client banks. This person will function with a high degree of autonomy and must exercise sound judgment within defined policies and procedures. We are looking for an experienced banking professional who is a highly analytical thinker, a strong problem solver, and a solid team player. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with shareholder banks, client banks, and prospect banks in tandem with the Regional Manager to: Manage the existing loan portfolio. Analyze new loan requests. Underwrite and present loan requests weekly to the Credit Committee. Assist with the training of new associates. Respond to customer inquiries regarding CBB's loan services. Follow market conditions, lending standards, and industry trends and practices. Represent CBB at banking conventions, trade shows, and meetings. Travel to meet customers and attend work functions. Subsequent to joining the CBB team, the Portfolio Manager will be expected to become familiar with:
- The lending and underwriting practices of our bank customers.
- The geographic markets of our bank customers.
- The various personnel and decision makers at our client banks.
SPECIFIC TASKS: Conduct financial analysis and collateral due diligence for new loan opportunities. Review real estate appraisals, environmental reports, and other third-party property reports.
- Oversee loan documentation and settlement process to ensure loan transactions are properly documented and closed in accordance with approved terms and conditions.
- Coordinate funding advances and verify supporting documentation for lines of credit and construction loans. Communicate with the lead bank and downstream banks for all participation issues. Prepare follow-up reports to document visits and meetings with existing and prospective bank customers.
- Identify, communicate, and promptly resolve credit concerns, collateral deficiencies, and other potential loan issues.
- Update the internal pipeline report to reflect the current status of new loan opportunities and recent loan approvals. REQUIRED SKILLS AND WORK HABITS:

Customer communications will be at many levels, from executive to officer. REQUIRED EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL TRAITS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting or equivalent experience in a business-related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial banking experience.
- Must have experience analyzing financial data, underwriting loan requests, and preparing credit memos.
- Must be highly motivated, results-oriented, and a self-starter with strong interpersonal skills.
- Must have excellent written/verbal communication, presentation, and organization skills.
- Must have flexibility in scheduling to accommodate travel and other situations as they arise.
