Position Overview

Pantheon Data is seeking a Senior Marine Electronics Engineer / Software Engineer (Cybersecurity)to join our dedicated team of engineers and cybersecurity specialists. In this role, you will serve as a key technical leader in the design, development, and protection of shipboard electronic systems. You'll help shape and secure systems that support national security, while mentoring and guiding junior engineers through complex and high-stakes engineering decisions.

Responsibilities



  • Apply your deep expertise in Electronics Engineering and Cybersecurity to lead the implementation of cybersecurity requirements for marine and shipboard systems.
  • Provide guidance and leadership for all cybersecurity-related verification and validation activities within the Electronics Engineering discipline.
  • Support the development and refinement of specifications for acquisition contracts, ensuring they meet DoD and mission-specific cybersecurity requirements.
  • Review and provide thoughtful feedback on design review comments from junior engineers, and advise senior decision-makers on critical design considerations and risk-based decisions.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers in understanding and applying shipboard cybersecurity design principles, fostering their growth and confidence in this highly specialized domain.


Required Skills and Experience



  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Electronics Engineering, with a strong track record of leadership in both technical execution and team development.
  • A minimum of 10 years' documented experience in cybersecurity, with expertise in the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and its application to shipboard systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with cybersecurity implementation, specification development for acquisition contracts, and risk-informed design decisions.
  • Strong background in leading design reviews, verification, and validation efforts with a focus on critical, mission-aligned outcomes.
  • A collaborative, thoughtful leader with a desire to mentor, build trust, and elevate those around them.
  • Ability to work effectively remotely in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.


Education

BS or MS in a Technical, Engineering, or Marine field

Clearance Requirements

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Work Location

Hybrid - three (3) days a week at USCG HQ (DHS St. Elizabeth's Campus in D.C.)

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $140,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
