Position Summary
Reporting to the Assistant/Associate Dean of Clinical Education, the Director for Clinical Education will, under minimal supervision, oversee and manage all aspects of the administrative, logistical and operational processes of the Department of Clinical Education for the Suwanee campus.
The Director oversees and manages the operational and high level administrative functions of all aspects of the Department of Clinical Education for the Suwanee campus including, but not limited to, planning, scheduling, staffing, leading, mentoring, managing, budgeting, relationship management, vendor management, training and development and high level reporting. The Director is responsible for the efficient, effective and profitable management of the Department of Clinical Education and works directly with the Assistant/Associate Dean of Clinical Education to ensure that the strategic vision and plans formulated and executed by the Assistant/Associate Dean of Clinical Education and C-Level leadership teams are carried through to fruition. The Director, above all things, should possess an expert ability to handle and resolve complicated and sensitive issues, in a diplomatic and effective manner.
ESSENTIAL SUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
* Manage and direct high level program operations and strategic planning initiatives regarding compliance oversight activities for the office as it relates to accreditation and curriculum standards, graduation requirements and budget analysis for the Suwanee campus.
* Effectively direct a team committed to providing extraordinary customer service and consistently improving operations to best serve the students, affiliate partners and internal team members we work with.
*Initiate, design and deliver professional growth and development opportunities for team members that aid in continued education and further development of professional skill set helping to retain talent and position team members for growth within the university.
* Develop and maintain relationships across the network of over 120+ affiliate partners to establish and build upon medical student clinical clerkship rotation opportunities ranging from large healthcare networks to individual physician practices.
* Support and provide input for C-Level negotiations for Core Clinical Campus initiatives and individual preceptor expansion.
o Manage and oversee operational and logistical matters for all newly established Core Clinical Campus rotations and individual preceptors; including nuanced scheduling to align with institutional resources, contract management, process design and implementation and effective communication.
o Supervises the assignment of all clerkships.
o Manages the credentialing of all clerkships, preceptors and hospitals.
* Using strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills to initially address serious educational and clinical matters for students and partners including but not limited to quality of rotations, housing matters, safety concerns, student wellness, evaluations, major student life events, exam challenges etc.
* Design and implement student focused wellness initiatives for the third and fourth year students at the Philadelphia campus tying directly into safety, mental health, physical wellbeing, clinical rotations, and on campus services to aid students and the overall student experience.
* Initiate and establish relationships at the Suwanee campus with other clinical program leaders to review clinical capacity with partners and maximize utilization of clinical opportunities for learners.
* Create and execute multiple office functions that focus on scheduling, operations management, policies and procedures, data collection and analysis, software implementation, budget development, training and development and strategic planning.
* Identify, analyze, propose and implement policies and procedures that will enhance the organizations ability to meet regulatory and or oversight requirements for student governing operating policies and accreditation standards while reducing regulatory compliance risk.
o 4-6 week turn around on Evaluations to align with anticipated unification standards and reduce compliance risk.
o Works directly with the Associate Provost to help facilitate MSPE letters for the Suwanee campus students.
* Partner with C Level leadership and vendors to design and implement intuitive scheduling software to meet rising demands of student and affiliate needs and to effectively streamline processes across the affiliate network.
* Performs other related duties as assigned to support departmental goals and evolving needs.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education
* Bachelor's degree required, graduate degree preferred.
* Work experience can make up for education.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
* No Board Certification or Board Eligibility is required.
Experience
* A minimum of three to five years' experience managing and directing teams of people, college or university setting preferred but not required. Excellent organizational and administrative abilities, communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Power Point is required. Must have experience using Microsoft Excel. Experience using Banner, E-Value and Blackboard preferred.
Physical Demands
* Must be able to lift files and administrative items. Sit at desk for prolonged periods, hear & answer telephone. Use standard office equipment.
