Position Summary:

The Director of Product Management is a senior leader responsible for driving the strategic direction, performance, and lifecycle of the company's product portfolio. This role leads a team of Subject Matter Experts and Application Engineers, collaborating across engineering, sales, operations, and marketing to ensure the successful development, positioning, and delivery of solutions that meet the evolving needs of utility and industrial customers in the bulk power sector.

This individual will play a key role in identifying growth opportunities, driving innovation, and ensuring the alignment of product strategies with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities



  1. Strategic Leadership

    • Define and execute the overall product strategy aligned with corporate goals, market dynamics, and customer needs.
    • Own the product portfolio roadmap, ensuring investment prioritization and cross-functional alignment.
    • Monitor competitive landscape, industry trends, and regulatory changes to guide product positioning and differentiation.


  2. Team Development & Management

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Subject Matter Experts and Application Engineers.
    • Foster a responsive, high-performance, customer-focused culture.
    • Provide guidance on business cases, product launches, and lifecycle management.


  3. Portfolio Management

    • Oversee the full product lifecycle for all major product lines, from concept to obsolescence.
    • Ensure clear value propositions, market segmentation strategies, and pricing approaches are in place.
    • Manage product profitability, including margins, cost optimization, and lifecycle investments.


  4. Customer & Market Engagement

    • Act as a senior voice-of-customer resource in key account discussions, industry conferences, and strategic partnerships.
    • Drive the use of customer feedback and market data in decision-making processes.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with utility stakeholders, industry influencers, and standards bodies (e.g., IEEE, CIGRE).


  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with R&D, production, and project delivery teams to guide technology and platform decisions.
    • Partner with marketing to ensure clear and differentiated messaging and go-to-market strategies.
    • Collaborate with operations and supply chain to ensure product quality, manufacturability, and scalability.


  6. Innovation & Growth Initiatives

    • Identify white space opportunities for new products, enhancements, or adjacent markets.

      • Lead product portfolio rationalization and innovation prioritization efforts.


    • Support M&A evaluations, partnerships, and strategic alliances where relevant.





Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management or related roles within industrial technology, power systems, or electrical infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven track record of leading product teams and managing complex portfolios.
  • Strong business acumen with ability to develop and present strategic plans and financial models.



Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master's degree in Engineering Management or related discipline.
  • Experience with condition monitoring, high-voltage equipment, or digital utility solutions.
  • Familiarity with global standards and utility procurement cycles.
