Job Description

Radiant Power is looking for a Director of Quality to join our team.




This position is located in Sarasota, FL. This is not a work from home position.



Relocation may be offered for the right candidate.

This position requires use of information or access to hardware, which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Requirements

The Director of Quality is a leadership role responsible for the direction and supervision of all Quality Management System requirements. As the AS9100 ManagementRepresentative, this position owns the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring riskbased thinking, product safety, and regulatory compliance are embedded throughout the organization.



GENERAL DUTIES:



  • Provide direct leadership to department staff by leading, managing, supporting and coaching members ensuring continual development of competencies
  • Represent the organization to customers, regulatory bodies or potential customers through presentation and communication of the quality management system process direction and performance.
  • Key point of contact with customers and regulatory bodies for quality issues: drives effective organization containment and corrective action processes to support product or quality system failures.
  • Appointed as FAA Accountable Manager for Part 21 Production Organization.
  • Develop and maintain an appropriate organization structure to support the quality function.
  • Report out customer and quality metrics to management and other business segments.
  • Plan and manage resources to profit plan and capital plan.
  • Stay abreast of current quality and regulatory trends and methodologies in the applicable industry.
  • Establish clear performance expectations for all Quality Department associates and their accountability.
  • Lead Management Review meetings with appropriate management levels
  • Own the Document Management System for all QMS records
  • Provide support as needed to FAA Certified Part 145 Repair Station
  • Chair Material Review Board and maintain oversight of supplier quality program.
  • Drive improvement for internal quality and business KPIs (scrap, escapes, warranty, OTD)
  • Champion product safety, counterfeit parts prevention, internal/external audit, and Corrective and Preventive action programs
  • Lead implementation of AS9100 standard revisions and implementation of AS9145 APQP.
  • Knowledge of dimensional inspection measurement systems and their application for the inspection of complex products
  • Other duties as assigned.



JOB QUALIFICATIONS:




  • Four (4) year college degree in Engineering (or related technical field) and a minimum of five years supervisory experience in Quality Assurance; work experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Experience in an FAA regulated environment preferred with knowledge of 14CFR21 and 14CFR145.
  • Strong understanding of AS9100 and Quality Management Systems
  • Demonstrated experience with customer focused activities and relationship development.
  • Able to communicate cross-functionally at all levels of the business - internally and externally.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills are essential.
  • Proven ability to apply measurement, analysis and CI tools to create lasting operational improvements.
  • Ability to lead and implement the strategy for the quality management system and gain support from cross-functional key stakeholders from within the organization.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:




  • Position located in an office environment, with exposure to the manufacturing floor regularly.
  • Domestic business related travel, valid driver's license required.
  • International business related travel, valid US passport required.
  • Regularly required to walk up and down stairs.
