Salary Range: $108,000 - $162,000 annual

Manufacturing Engineering Manager

As the leader of the Munters Manufacturing Engineering team, you'll hold an important role in optimizing the manufacturing process to meet customer expectations. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for developing and implementing cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. In addition, recommends and implements improvements to production processes methods and controls, coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products. This is a hands-on position where results matter.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Expert level understanding of SMED methodology. Ability to apply in mechanical and electrical assembly environment. Develop and breakout sub-assemblies required to achieve desired Tact Time.
  • Drive Operational Excellence through hands on work ethic and on floor leadership
  • Partner closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance to achieve cost and schedule targets.
  • Analyze current methods of production through time studies, balance charts, research, and interviewing operators and suppliers to fully understand the products and opportunities to improve efficiencies.
  • Develop and continuously evaluate processes to measure and improve productivity (process effectiveness, team efficiency).
  • Drive problem-solving using structured tools (root cause analysis, Six Sigma, PFMEA, control plans).
  • Standardize and continuously improve processes to ensure quality, consistency, and operator ease-of-use.
  • Optimize material and information flow with initiatives developed through Current State, Future State, and Ideal State Value Stream Mapping, waste elimination, variation reduction, and Standardized Work.
  • Analyze space constraints, material flow, people movement, and current needs utilizing Spaghetti Diagrams to find areas for improvement.
  • Create necessary redline documentation to support projects and maintain accurate records related to proposed changes on the production floor including work instructions and BOMs where appropriate.
  • Work closely with management, technical, supervisory and production personnel to assist in implementation of LEAN plans and projects.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Willing to be hands on > 50% of the time.
  • Capable of working in a team environment and managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficient in data analysis, structured problem solving, change management, and KPI development.
  • Proficient in Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Mixed Model VS, Standardized Work, Spaghetti Diagrams, 5S, and PFEP.
  • Knowledge of large equipment manufacturing processes
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly
  • Motivated, confident, and persistent in meeting project goals.
  • Effective communicator, both externally (customers) and internally (management, colleagues, sales, and direct labor work force).

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field and minimum LEAN 6 Sigma Green Belt Certification.
  • Desirable Requirements: Training in LEAN and 6 Sigma methodologies with black belt certification. Knowledge of large equipment manufacturing including sheet metal, piping, and mechanical and electrical assembly.
  • Experienced in a low volume, high mix, manufacturing environment / mixed model manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Bilingual a plus (Spanish/English)

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
