POSITION OVERVIEWUnder general supervision of the Installation & Repair Team Supervisor, the Senior Electronics Technician is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the Mitel MX One PBX, Local Area Network, Wide Area Network, Wireless Network and the Fiber Optic Network. The technician will perform daily add, moves, changes and repair for Mitel MD110 digital electronic switching system and switched Ethernet to the desktop while providing quality customer service. Troubleshoot the physical layer of the OSI Model. Ensure communications records are accurately completed and changes are made, as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Install and support the expansion of the backbone network utilizing multi-media communications switches and routers. * Responsible for installing and maintaining all communications networks. * Install all station cable and inside wire to include jacks, straight stations, answering devices and inside plant related equipment in accordance to IEEE and EIA/TIA standards and specifications. * Install, maintain and trouble shoot the wireless network, wireless access points and supporting hardware. * Build out and test fiber optic networks. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
