About the role

Position Summary:

The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel and gasoline engine-driven heavy trucks, construction equipment, and complex hydraulic and pneumatic systems. This is a skilled position that requires mechanical expertise and a strong commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform mechanical repairs, including emergency field repairs, on heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
• Inspect equipment and direct subordinate technicians on necessary repairs and maintenance procedures.
• Conduct service road calls as needed.
• Utilize gas and electric welding for equipment maintenance and repair.
• Accurately complete maintenance and repair records for all serviced equipment.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a mechanical or technician role.
• NYSI (New York State Inspection) license strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with diagnostic software, including Cummins Insite, JPro, and Davies.
• Strong understanding of and adherence to safety procedures.
• Proficiency in using a variety of tools and equipment, including hand and power tools, drill presses, grinders, welding/brazing apparatus, and other heavy equipment.

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to work in environments with exposure to wet or humid conditions, loud noise, and outdoor weather.

This position's expected hourly pay rate is $27 - $35 per hour

This is a good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The final salary will consider various factors, including experience, ability, and location. Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and these ranges should not be considered career salary limits or caps.
