The Role:

The Associate Design Engineer will help develop new (or
improved) product and equipment control systems design. Additionally, they will
ensure that products are marketable and meet established performance
specifications by performing engineering support for manufacturing products and
equipment systems in production.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Performs product design and prepares electrical and mechanical CAD drawings and Bills of Material for industrial control systems to meet international, national, and other standards and specifications of customers, Engineering, Manufacturing, or Marketing.
  • Conducts equipment evaluation, designs bench test work as needed; provides special product instructions and manuals.
  • Develop and validate PLC and HMI software.
  • Select vendors and components suitable for inclusion in the product or job design considering quality level, performance, cost, and availability.
  • Obtain quotes for new components and participate in preparing product and project cost estimates.
  • Administer Engineering support to our Manufacturing and Materials department regarding production hardware, tools, processes, production control, material problems, drawings, etc.
  • Support feasibility studies or pilot programs to determine the company's capability to build a product or a part to conform to required specifications; prepare appropriate reports and recommendations.
  • Write test procedures and design test fixtures for products to meet specified test or inspection limits for the product or job specifications. Participates in solving production problems identified through testing.
  • Prepare technical reports on product performance capabilities and reliability.

Requirements:

  • At least 2+ years of professional working experience with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least two years of experience with electrical/control design engineering, including PLC programming.
  • Proven working knowledge of drafting techniques and engineering terminology.
  • Proven working experience analyzing complex and statistical specifications.
  • Inventor Mechanical and/or AutoCAD Electrical experience preferred but not required.
  • NEC, UL, and/or IEC/EN knowledge is preferred but not required.
