Windsor Laurelwood is seeking a Phlebotomist

A Phlebotomist plays a key role in delivering safe, accurate, and patientcentered diagnostic services by performing highquality blood collection, ensuring precise specimen labeling, and maintaining strict adherence to clinical, safety, and infectioncontrol standards in a behavioral health setting. This role supports interdisciplinary care by upholding organizational values, fostering patient trust through clear communication and professional technique, and contributing to efficient clinical operations through accurate documentation, supply management, and maintenance of a clean, organized workspace.

As a Phlebotomist, you will:

  • Performs a range of duties at increasing levels of complexity under varying degrees of supervision, accurately recording results.
  • Collects high-quality blood specimens from patients and prepares samples for laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures and protocols.
  • Verifies patient demographic information, including obtaining patient initials and signatures after venipuncture to confirm that specimens were labeled in their presence and that all identifying information is accurate.
  • Demonstrates competency in patient care procedures, observations, treatments, and techniques utilized within the facility.
  • Adheres to established policies, procedures, quality assurance guidelines, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Fosters a trusting and reassuring environment by clearly explaining procedures to patients and performing blood draws in a safe, accurate, and professional manner.
  • Upholds organizational values and promotes a positive image to patients, clients, colleagues, and the community.
  • Supports collaboration and innovation within clinical services to enhance interdisciplinary care delivery and improve patient outcomes.
  • Maintains accurate records and required documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Manages inventory by stocking supplies upon delivery and organizing materials efficiently.
  • Ensures cleanliness and organization of the phlebotomy workspace.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Minimum High School diploma or equivalent required.

Completion of a Phlebotomy or Medical Office Assistant Course required.

EXPERIENCE

Two (2) years' experience with phlebotomy required and previous hospital experience is preferred.

Comfortable working in a fast-pace, customer orientated environment.

Physical abilities require include repetitive motion, standing, walking, lifting, visual acuity, speaking, writing, kneeling, reaching, turning and bending.
