About the Role

The Sr. Medical Science Laision (Sr. MSL) is a field-based, external-facing member of the medical team responsible for cultivating and building relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs), thought leaders (KOLs) and other influential members of the healthcare community to share scientific knowledge, gain customer insights, and support Currax's medical strategy. The role will report to the Head of Medical Affairs and work closely with the Chief Medical Officer. The Sr. MSL plays a pivotal role in advancing therapeutic education and optimizing patient outcomes, in addition will serve as the advance technical, scientific and medical expert in therapeutic areas and disease states in support of the company's portfolio of drugs.

The Sr. MSL will spend the majority of their time in the field developing and maintaining scientific relationships with KOLs/HCPs. This role will support the U.S. and will focus on targeted geographies.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate advanced medical-scientific knowledge in assigned therapeutic areas and disease states related to Currax products.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with KOLs, HCPs, and relevant decision makers to enhance disease and product knowledge, aligned with Currax's medical strategy.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate emerging scientific information relevant to Currax products and therapeutic areas of interest.
  • Accurately and compliantly interpret and disseminate balanced and factual scientific, clinical, and health economic data to internal and external audiences.
  • Support clinical operations in the execution of Currax-sponsored research and facilitate strategically aligned investigator-initiated trials (IITs) and collaborative research, adhering to company policies.
  • Represent Currax at medical/scientific conferences, advisory boards, and other relevant meetings, engaging with KOLs, providing medical information support, and contributing to conference planning and reporting.
  • Contribute to Medical Affairs education programs, including speaker programs and scientific symposia.
  • Collaborate with Market Access to provide accurate, balanced scientific and medical insights aligned with corporate objectives, supporting payer engagement and enhanced patient access.
  • Respond to unsolicited medical information inquiries in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with company policies, and applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of customer activities (e.g., CRM entries, insights capture), training, and expenses, ensuring timely submission and compliance with all company policies.

Required Qualification & Skills

  • Advanced scientific degree (e.g. MD, DO, PhD, PharmD) strongly preferred
  • A minimum of 8 - 10+ years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 2 years as a field-based MSL in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
  • Relevant therapeutic area knowledge and expertise
  • Strong scientific acumen with ability to interpret, disseminate, and discuss complex scientific, clinical, and health economic data with diverse healthcare audiences
  • Strong relationship building and networking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships
  • Proven ability to work effectively in virtual and cross-functional teams
  • In-depth understanding of and adherence to legal, regulatory, and compliance standards
  • Travel requirements:
    • Frequent travel required (up to 60% of time), including overnights and weekends as necessary
    • Ability to drive and/or fly to meetings is required
    • Must have clean and valid driver's license
