PURPOSE:
FormFactor's RF Products group partners with some of the world's foremost semiconductor manufacturers to solve their most complex test and validation challenges. Our technologies are critical to the wireless and high-speed communication markets, enabling the development and production of 5G and mmWave radios, ultra-high-speed I/O, and a wide range of RF and high-frequency technologies-from DC to terahertz.
If you own a cell phone, chances are our Beaverton team helped design the test solutions for its radio. We are seeking a Senior Applications Engineering Manager to lead our factory-based advanced applications engineering team and drive innovation in RF test solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and develop a team of applications engineers focused on resolving complex customer measurement challenges.
- Act as a technical liaison between customers and internal teams, translating customer requirements into actionable engineering plans.
- Drive customer solutions development in collaboration with Beaverton-based engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of customer-facing projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
- Serve as an interface between the global field applications engineering team and factory-based engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
- Coordinate training and skills development for the global field applications team, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and product development teams to resolve customer issues and improve product performance.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in applications engineering, ideally in RF and/or semiconductor test
- 2+ years of experience in leadership or management role.
- Strong technical background in RF, semiconductor wafer probing, or Automated Test equipment.
- Proven ability to lead complex, multiphysics projects by leveraging cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated expertise using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, DMAIC, A3, Root Cause Analysis)
- Experience in EM simulation (ADS, AWR, HFSS, etc.), scripting (Python, Matlab, LabVIEW, etc.), or RF calibration techniques is a plus.
- Ability to travel, US and international, up to 20%.
- Hybrid or remote work is possible for the right candidate, although on-site presence in Beaverton is preferred.
The pay range for this role in Beaverton, OR is between $138,900 and $182,280. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
