Director of Marketing, Game Day Experience, and Community Engagement


Position Overview: The Director of Marketing, Game Day Experience and Community Engagement is responsible for the marketing, promotions, and community engagement activities of the athletics department in accordance with NCAA, conference and University rules and regulations while also overseeing all visual aspects of home game day experience including ticketing at athletics events. The position collaborates with internal offices such as University Marketing, Alumni Relations, and Conference and Events to encourage and promote brand presence and identifiability among alumni, parents, fans, and friends of the University. This position will serve as a member of the Atheltic Department's administrative team and represents the Athletic Department in all internal and external marketing and community affairs. This position reports directly to the Assistant AD for Communications and must support the values and vision of CSP.

Essential Duties:


  • Execute marketing activities to increase attendance and ticket sales at competitions and functions, including in-game promotions, and take the lead with community engagement activities
  • In cooperation with Athletic Communications, facilitate department's social media presence and digital marketing strategies
  • Ensure the execution of partner activations and fulfillment for sponsorship agreements, including signage, digital assets, print assets, and in-game promotions while overseeing the visual presentation (signage, premium seating placement, branding, display for apparel sales, etc) for CSP's home athletic events
  • Oversee events and initiatives regarding community partners, CSP departments and student-led organizations
  • Coordinate all aspects of game-day presentation (video board content, PA reads, marketing & promotion contests) and special event atmosphere (i.e. cheer team, band, national anthem singer, halftime shows, etc.)
  • Oversee the Department of Athletics Marketing Internship Program and Graduate Assistant while ensuring student workers are staffed appropriately for all home athletic events in conjunction with Facilities staff
  • Manage department's athletics apparel for both internal use and external sales, and ensure brand consistency across all programs
  • Abide by NCAA, NSIC, and CSP rules and regulations
  • Additional duties as assigned


Education & Experience:


  • Bachelor's Degree: Required
  • Master's Degree: Preferred
  • Previous work experience in the sports/entertainment/hospitality industry
  • Experience developing and executing a strategic plan aimed at departmental growth
  • Ability to develop a lead marketing strategy for athletic campaigns, branding and engagement
  • Experience creating and analyzing campaigns to maximize ticket sales and market exposure
  • Ability to work closely with internal staff to promote selling strategy and tactics to generate revenue
  • Experience planning and overseeing advertising and promotional campaigns for print and digital
  • Previous experience with email marketing, social media, advertising, branding and in-venue production
  • Ability to provide analytical support to university partners on marketing and event-based spending

Exceptions: position requires long hours, including nights and weekends, and may require exposure to adverse weather conditions.

Pay Range: $50,000 - $55,000 per year
