The Center for Public Safety and Justice (CPSJ) in the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) seeks applications for one or more non-tenure track, part-time (faculty wage) lecturer position(s) to teach in theMaster of Public Safety(MPS), theNational Criminal Justice Command College(NCJCC), and related programs beginning Fall 2025. The MPS is an online program. The NCJCC is anintensive in-person and/or hybrid programfor mid-to-upper-level law enforcement leaders. Both programs focus on leadership, innovation, communication engagement, andcollaboration. Required Education:

Successful candidates will have extensive public safety leadership experience and expertise, as well as relevant graduate school education and evidence of current/recent professional experience. Successful candidates will likely have backgrounds similar to/consistent with existingMPS faculty biographies. Public safety subject area needs include leadership, Constitutional framework, emergency preparedness, community dialogue, budgeting, and humanresources.Successfulcandidates will teach one or moreMPS core courses. Individuals with specific expertise in timely topical areas (e.g., AI, immigration, etc.) may also be considered. The school is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
