Brentwood Behavioral offers both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services. Located in Flowood, MS, in Rankin County with close proximity to Hinds and Madison Counties, our outpatient services are within driving distance to many surrounding areas. Brentwood Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a talented and dynamic FULL TIME RECREATION THERAPIST to join out team!

The Recreation Therapist is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of a comprehensive therapeutic recreation program tailored to meet the diverse physical, emotional, social, cultural, and recreational needs of patients within assigned treatment areas. This includes designing and facilitating structured group and individual activities that promote wellness, enhance quality of life, and support each patient's treatment goals. The therapist collaborates closely with interdisciplinary team members to ensure that recreational interventions are integrated into the overall care plan and regularly evaluates program effectiveness to make necessary adjustments. Additionally, the role involves maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring safety during activities, and fostering an inclusive, engaging environment that encourages patient participation and personal growth.

Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field.
  • Certification in Therapeutic Recreation or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in the behavioral health field.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Therapeutic Recreation from an accredited college.
