Configuration Management Specialist

Purpose:


  • Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Configuration Management Specialist in Virginia Beach, VA.
  • Seeking a Configuration Management/Availability Planning Specialist to provide critical support for Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) and Medium Landing Ship (LSM) Total Ship Computing Environment (TSCE) and Atlanta Weapon Systems (AtWS) programs. This position requires a multi-disciplinary professional who can seamlessly integrate configuration management rigor, availability planning expertise, and program management coordination to ensure fleet readiness and mission success.


Job Description:


  • Serve as Ship Change Document (SCD) and Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) initiator/create for software modifications, ensuring compliance with Navy data Environment-Entitled Process (NDE-EP)
  • Lead Configuration Control Board (CCB) processes, facilitation technical reviews and approval workflows for all configuration changes.
  • Maintain authoritative control of multiple Configuration items (CIs) across LCS/LSM platforms, including software baseline management, roadmaps, and obsolescence tracking.
  • Complete ILS certifications and maintain ILS checklist for all configuration changes.
  • Manage Work File Change Notices (WFCN) and coordinate with Configuration Support Managers (CSM).
  • Ensure Proper Software licensing compliance and standardized nomenclature across all systems.
  • Collaboration with engineering, technical, and logistical personnel to develop and implement programmatic logistics and product support requirements.


Qualifications:


  • Must have Bachelor's Degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience , in lieu of a Bachelor's degree an Associates Degree with at least 7 years of experience or a High Scholl Diploma or equivalent and at least 10 years of experience.


  • Must have experience with LCS/LSM class ships or similar naval platforms.
  • Must have experience with TSCE or shipboard computing environments.
  • Must have experience with utilizing Navy Data Environment (NDE) with various modules.
  • Must have experience with MBPS systems for XRIC processing.


Desired Qualifications:


  • Shipboard installation planning and schedule alignment, preferred.
  • Naval Message Management systems, preferred.
  • Risk Form Management policies and procedures, preferred.


Security Requirements:


  • Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain that clearance.
  • Must maintain clearance eligibility to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.


Travel Requirements:


  • Occasional Travel- less than 10%
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (no later than position start date) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:


  • Must be able to work in an office, industrial, or shipboard environment.
  • Be able to lift and move materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one-man lift.
  • Must be able to perform site surveys and carry a laptop computer.

Pay Range: $65,000 - $95,000 per year
