NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn is full-service, 450-bed teaching hospital that offers a diverse range of services - including one of the busiest Emergency Departments and Level I Trauma Centers in Brooklyn. It is a N.Y.S. designated Stroke Center, STEMI Center, bariatric center of excellence and a perinatal care center certified by The Joint Commission. NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn has a robust and high-volume OB program, with approximately 4000 deliveries per year. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Brooklyn campus is seeking an Obstetrical Physician Patient Safety Officer. This full-time hospital-based physician will join an existing practice of four safety officers responsible for providing patient care and overseeing the practice of 40 obstetricians and 17 advanced practice providers at NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn's busy Labor and Delivery Unit. Work responsibilities includea maximum of13 sessions per month, andeach session is 12 hours. Our team values collaboration, enthusiasm, integrity, transparency, and communication. We work closely with the Obstetrical Teams comprising ofAttendings, Nurses, Trainees, Allied Health Professionals, to provide quality evidence-based care to our patients. There are opportunities for involvement in quality improvement projects, clinical research, mentorship of trainees and leadership opportunities. We are seeking an individual who can effectively communicate, is passionate about patient safety and quality, and who enjoys working in a high volume, high acuity, multi-disciplinary clinical setting. Salary: $300,000 plus a competitive benefit package Candidates must be board certified with a minimum 5 years clinical experience with continuous active practice in Obstetrics. Candidate should demonstrate a strong commitment to safe, high quality, state of the art patient care as well as trainee education. Applicants should have successfully completed a U.S. Accredited OB/GYN Residency training program and have a New York State Medical license.
