Performs routine laboratory tests under close supervision to determine chemical or physical characteristics designated by the client. The role includes ensuring compliance with safety regulations, documenting test results, calibrating equipment, and adhering to quality standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive and log field samples.
- Demonstrate the ability to accurately complete laboratory raw data sheets and input data into laboratory information systems.
- Read and understand all analysis and safety standards, including ASTM, UOP, and IP.
- Assist senior laboratory personnel in setting up, adjusting and operating laboratory equipment for which the technician has been adequately trained and has been verified to operate correctly in accordance with applicable standards and sound laboratory practice.
- Support or conduct basic analytical tests in accordance with established standards and procedures, as directed by the Laboratory Manager.
- Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment.
- Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
- Assist in general lab activities.
EDUCATION
- A high school graduate or equivalent required.
- Associates degree preferred.
- Minimum one year of related experience and/or training in the lab.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety regulations.
- Familiarity with laboratory sample handling and documentation.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- High level of reliability, honesty, punctuality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Willingness to participate in training coursesas required.
- Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office applications.

- Laboratory personnel must regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
