JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for performing specialty functions and evaluations to support aerospace and industrial gas turbine manufacturing and engineering operations. Support development of solutions integrating technical expertise, problem-solving methodologies and fostering a culture of innovation improving the performance of Chromalloy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports Community of Practice(s)
- Develops documentation to set up, calibrate, operate, and maintain all equipment related to area of specialty.
- Develops programs for CNC grinding machines.
- Creates instructions and checklists for the operation of equipment and related materials for use in tests and/or production.
- Takes measurements and performs evaluations according to standard and non-standard methods.
- Ensures all testing is accomplished according to all customer and regulatory requirements.
- Records and reports test results after performing calculations, analyzing data, and making graphical representations as appropriate.
- Conducts work within established criteria and specifications.
- Provides assistance, guides, and trains less experienced team members.
- Performs safety checks on all equipment and safety instruments.
- Maintains equipment readiness and limits downtime in the event of malfunction.
- Prepares technical report summaries and periodically presents work to internal customers.
- Handles movement of gas turbine parts and miscellaneous equipment through-out the facility.
- Uses appropriate personal protective equipment and follows appropriate health and safety practices.
- Occasional travel required.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment by enforcing and supporting 5S principles.
- Adhere to and promote Corporate Code of Ethical Standards.
- Ensure compliance with Company IPM/QPM and ISO-9000 quality requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technical Associates Degree in area of specialty or High school diploma/GED and equivalent work experience
- Practical and demonstrated experience working in an environment related to specialty.
- Requires broad knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through specialty work experience (may require technical education).
- Proven ability to assist technically while interfacing with other technical team members and other functions within a matrix organizational structure.
- Proven experience in the use of best practices, and technology.
- Proven experience in resolving non-routine problems requiring analysis to understand.
- Proven experience in CNC grinding processes.
- Uses foundational CI tools across the role to better the operational performance of the department.
- Typically, minimum of 3-5 years' experience in Aerospace or Industrial gas turbine engine engineering technician (laboratory, manufacture, or repair) or combined equivalent, achieving progressively increasing responsibility and results
