Position summary: Responsible for running the operations of the office including the formulation of business, marketing and strategic planning. Supervises office staff and coordinates with the Regional Manager.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

General



  • Serve as JMT's executive leader in the San Antonio market, leading the collaboration, development and implementation of our strategic plan, and building, inspiring and supporting outstanding teams.
  • Oversee an office of 60 plus staff with 7 departments with desire of continued growth and adding new market sectors.
  • Facilitate an office culture of caring about clients, community, quality, and safety.


Marketing & Business Development



  • Maintain existing and develop new clients. Special interests include, but are not limited to, TxDOT, Bexar County, SAWS, VIA, Alamo RMA, City of San Antonio and surrounding municipalities.
  • Maintain relationship with clients to ensure satisfaction with JMT services.
  • Oversight and development of proposals, procurement schedules and business development activities in collaboration with marketing staff.


Project Oversight



  • Responsible for monitoring and resource management of work-in-process, billings, monitoring of outstanding accounts receivable and initial collection efforts for projects.
  • Ensure the design and production work follows our QMS process to ensure that it meets the highest professional standards and is in conformance with company standards, including ISO:9001-2015
  • Oversee forecasting of staffing and facility needs for office.


Financial Performance



  • Responsible for the overall profitability and financial performance of the office.
  • Collaborate with JMT Regional Manager/Leadership to support work-share and business development efforts.


People Management



  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the firm's policies and applicable laws.
  • Interview, hire, train, assign and directing work, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Lead and manage team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meeting, coaching) that supports the growth and development of team.
  • Responsible for organizing and facilitating employee engagement events
  • Responsible for employee engagement and retention


Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities



  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture or related field
  • 20+ years of industry experience including supervisory, project management, and business development


Qualifications Preferred



  • Previously managed directly or indirectly multi-disciplinary teams of 10 or more collectively


Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
