Summary of Job Duties:Greeting students who visit Academic Advising & Career Services in a professional manner.

Answering and returning phone calls; making copies; delivering paperwork to other offices on campus; checking campus mail.

Scheduling advising appointments via phone or in person; aiding in the management of Appointment Plus by adding new students, entering faculty schedules, and updating advisor information.

Preparing documents for advising appointments and walk-in registration; keeping up-to-date forms accessible for advisors and students; sending student notifications for upcoming events (i.e. transfer visits).

Assisting students with questions and the completion of paperwork (i.e. drop/add forms and change of majors).

Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Academic Advising and Career Services. Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

One year of specialized training in the secretarial field

One year of clerical experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to individuals and large groups.

Proficient in the use of computer software and applications, such as but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access.

Knowledge of office management principles, methods, and procedures.

Able to perform basic research, analyze information and prepare reports in a logical and informative manner.

Able to problem solve, organize and prioritize work, multi-task, and be flexible and accepting of change.

Able to work independently and cooperatively with a team to achieve the mission/goal.

Able to work effectively and cooperatively with people of various cultural backgrounds.

Able to lift and move objects that may weight up to 25 lbs.

Salary Information:

$27,000 - $30,000 commensurate with education and experience
