Job Description
Performance Contracting is seeking a Safety Technician for its Chicago-573 operations based in Elk Grove, IL.
Job responsibilities include:
- Promote safety, safe work practices and behaviors to instill an injury-free culture throughout all site and field personnel.
- Assist branch / site with the implementation and administration of the company's accident prevention plan, policies and procedures. Including safety resources such as training, expertise and guidance.
- Ensure company and client safety reports and documentation are submitted timely and in accordance with client requirements and expectations.
- Collaborate with site safety manager and field to develop and implement safety policies and procedures as necessary; monitor for effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement when necessary.
- Create and maintain positive relationships with all trades, vendors, co-workers and customers to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
- Convey a professional and positive attitude as the safety representative of the jobsite and company.
- Adopt available technology for self and others to perform job tasks efficiently.
This position is safety-sensitive.
Basic Requirements
- OSHA 30hr preferred
- Knowledge of construction good safety practices.
- Good communication skills.
- Motivated self-starter willing to take initiative.
- Must have provided safety oversight or similar experience.
- Capable of spending 80% of daily time in the field with craft.
- Able to work 40hr+ work weeks.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and labor experience in the field.
- Positive attitude and ability to work in team environment.
- Work well under pressure and deadline.
- Ability to learn new safety skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught.
- Ability to plan, execute and organize safety paperwork
- Able to work with customers and employees, building strong relationships
- Follow all site rules & guidelines.
