As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Life Solutions Team within Aon's Strategy and Technology Group (STG). This Director, Life Actuarial Consulting role is passionate about providing actuarial consulting services to North American Life and Annuity (Re)Insurers. This role will report to the Senior Managing Director, Life Solutions - North America.

Aon's Life Solutions brings an "Aon United" approach to solve important challenges for Life and Annuity Re/insurers. We bring a unique combination of reinsurance broking, strategic consulting, actuarial consulting, and technology solutions. We help our clients address their most pressing risk, capital, operational and strategic objectives. We deliver innovative and effective solutions to meet their risk and capital targets, financial reporting requirements, hedging needs, and other actuarial and strategic challenges.

The Director, Life Actuarial Consulting, will be a critical contributor to the Life Solutions organization. As part of a market-leading team, you will be active in the industry, creating a network of c-suite contacts, where you'll work collaboratively to become a trusted advisor. Through consultative selling you'll identify client needs and match Aon solutions that address those needs and go above and beyond. Your primary focus will be to secure opportunities to provide actuarial consulting services. However, you will also play a key role in driving modeling software opportunities (Aon's Life Risk Modeling Suite - PathWise) and identifying and supporting reinsurance broking opportunities.

Your focus will be on opportunities in the North American market, where you will use your unique expertise and abilities to secure and deliver consulting projects. Typical projects may involve M&A valuation, Bermuda financial reporting, product development, ALM/SAA, actuarial transformation, or other deliverables important to our clients.

We are open to basing this role in an Aon Office in the US, or US Virtual.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • A minimum of 8 years life (re)insurance and annuity experience
  • Expert level knowledge and experience in regulatory reporting plus one or more of M&A, Bermuda, Product Development, ALM/SAA, or actuarial transformation
  • Strong understanding of actuarial systems used for pricing, projections, valuation, and hedging.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter; committed to delivering the highest in client service, quality, and results.
  • Previous formal or informal experience in leading teams or direct reports [Senior]

  • Expert with exceptional client relationship management capabilities
  • Ability to uncover client challenges and identify solutions leveraging Aon resources and capabilities.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is [$165,000 to $225,000] annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in Aon's annual incentive plans in addition to base salary. The amount of any incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
