Job Description
CSCI Consulting is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our Operations team. In this role, you will provide expert-level technical support for enterprise IT systems, with a focus on ERP and logistics environments. You'll lead troubleshooting, systems integration, and performance optimization efforts, while contributing to the resilience and efficiency of mission-critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex technical issues across infrastructure, middleware, and application layers
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA), performance tuning, and capacity planning activities
- Provide expert operational support for large-scale enterprise systems, including ERP and logistics platforms
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system administration, database operations, and data/interface flows
- Monitor and optimize system health using tools such as Splunk and other observability platforms
- Support audit readiness and ensure compliance with security and operational frameworks (e.g., NIST, FISCAM)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement ITIL-based service operations, including incident, problem, and change management
- Contribute to enterprise service desk operations and help build and maintain technical knowledge bases
- Participate in Agile/DevSecOps workflows, including CI/CD, automated monitoring, and process improvement
- Explore and support the integration of AI/ML-assisted monitoring and predictive analytics tools
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
- 7-10 years of experience in enterprise IT operations, systems integration, or technical architecture roles
- Proven experience supporting production environments for ERP or logistics systems at scale
- Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, middleware, and data layers
- Familiarity with ITIL-based operations and service management processes
- Experience in Tier 3 operations support, including RCA, performance tuning, and capacity planning
- Proficient in system administration, database management, and interface troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with Splunk or similar monitoring/log analytics tools
- Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving
- Ability to work with clients to understand their needs
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional presence
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and RICECPW components
- Knowledge of middleware technologies (e.g., WebLogic, SOA, etc.)
- Exposure to Agile and DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD and automation tools
- Familiarity with audit and compliance requirements such as NIST and FISCAM
- Experience supporting enterprise service desks and developing self-service or knowledge-sharing solutions
- Interest in or experience with AI/ML-driven monitoring and operational analytics
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
- Strong customer and vendor relationship skills
- Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies
- Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value
- Past experience working with a federal agency
- Department of Defense experience is a plus!
