We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Bloomfield, CT. The Manufacturing Engineer provides manufacturing operations with technical support. Develops manufacturing process layouts, tool and fixture designs. Ensures that all production methodology meets customer requirements, productivity and quality expectations. Conducts product development projects within designated cost, quality and timelines.

Responsibilities:




  1. Uses knowledge of manufacturing processes and machine methodology, provides detailed drawings or sketches as guidance for drafting personnel to complete process sequencing. Uses knowledge of cutting tool technology, fixture design, machining and CNC programming techniques, to establish best practices for production. Continuously works with Machinists to improve machining efficiencies. Responsible for the sustainment of standard machining techniques.




  1. Utilizes lean manufacturing methods to enhance manufacturing efficiencies and reduce costs. Performs research for equipment acquisition, develops Return on Investment (ROI) reports for equipment acquisition justification.




  1. Develops manufacturing methods and work instructions on new products or new equipment to meet productivity and quality requirements. Ensures processes yield product which meets cost and quality expectations, with reliability and consistency. Determines tools, jaws, speeds, feeds and fixtures to support manufacturing operations. Develops machining programs using Computer Aided Manufacturing systems, to meet production expectations of productivity, quality and safety.




  1. Trains Production Engineers (PE) in support of knowledge base growth and development.




  1. Provides primary support to Value Stream assigned, trains with Sr ME to develop capability to support all Value Streams as requested. Provides a high level of service to all internal and external customers, shares knowledge and lessons learned. Contributes to positive teamwork environment.




  1. Acts as a troubleshooter for assembly / machining process / manufacturing problems. Resolves problems, works with Applications Engineering, Purchasing, Sales Representatives, Product and process Suppliers and customers to resolve issues.




  1. Maintains clean and safe work environment. Follows safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Reports safety and environmental incidents to supervisor.




  1. Performs other duties as assigned. Accomplishes related results as needed.



Qualifications:


Education: Assciate's Degree in Industrial Technology or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.



Experience: 3+ years machine shop engineering experience, preferred.


Proficiency with Computer Aided Manufacturing programs is required.
