Vitro has an Innovation Director, Commercial Segment, position open at the Vitro Glass Technology Center in Harmar, PA. This position defines the vision for the Commercial market segment to dominate it and complements the strategy for Interiors, Specialty and Residential. Leads business growth through innovation, expanding existing product lines and leading new products and platforms within the Architectural Glass business. Coordinates Product Management team to ensure success. Maps the future though Strategic Marketing, anticipating market trends and needs. Develops and executes product launches including influencing all stakeholders, defining pricing, branding, market segmentation. Leads confidential-secret project to test hypothetical new businesses and commercialization avenues. Directly leads and executes Market Research projects (i.e. studies) to understand market trends, including value chain stakeholder wants and needs, as critical input for new product development. Directly engages in Go-To-Market Strategy and Field Implementation activities once new products reach pre-launch and launch stages.



Specific Job-Related Knowledge, Experience, & Abilities:



  • BS Architecture/Marketing
  • 10+ years' Experience
  • High understanding of the Glass and Glazing industry dynamics. Worked in the industry for at least 10 years with a mix of architectural sales, customer relationships, product management and interaction with architects and specifiers. High level of communication skills, customer service skills, creativity, financial critical thinking and leadership.


Responsibilities:



  • Defines the product portfolio for Commercial building segment as a priority
  • Gain a deep understanding of customer & stakeholders wants and needs through conducting market research projects, with the objective of identifying and filling product gaps to grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth
  • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
  • Develop product pricing and positioning strategies
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes
  • Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact
  • Work closely with stakeholders to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources
  • Drive product launches including working with mark-com team, executives, and other product management team members
  • Train the NAM and CAM teams to understand the value proposition and sell up.
  • Clearly understand the product value in the final product
  • Represent the company by visiting customers to solicit feedback on company products and services, including conducting active Field work for pre-launch stages (identifying opportunities/needs & wants) and post-launch stages (product evangelism & adoption, external presentations, direct feedback collection)
  • Works with all departments to keep innovation flowing
  • Actively participates and leads specific initiatives defined in Strategic Planning, including creation of a second engine business
  • Managing the Product Manager team to accomplish innovation and organization goals
  • Leads Innovation Market development team
