Job Overview:

As part of the Payroll Team, this position will be primarily responsible for US and Canada payroll processing within UKG Pro and ADP Celergo.
Team members are highly adaptable, as the scope of requirements is ever-changing while Ingersoll Rand expands its workforce. This position partners with leaders and team members as a part of the Centers of Excellence group working with HR, benefits, HRIS, accounting, internal audit, and other functional and business teams to successfully deliver process and system improvements related to Payroll and related areas, ultimately benefiting our 8,000+ associates in the US and Canada.

Responsibilities:


  • Process payroll for US employees including submissions, adjustments, audits and validations within prescribed deadlines.


  • Ensure privacy, accuracy, and quality of data being transferred from HRIS to payroll system; Audit assurance for accuracy, inclusion and completion of the daily HR interface to UKG and ADP systems.


  • Assure compliant time card processing, recordkeeping and inclusion within payroll.


  • Assist in year-end process Annual W2 reporting, balancing, production and compliance.


  • Complete monthly, quarterly and annual payroll audits and account reconciliations.


  • Experience with federal and provincial taxes and remittances.


  • Participate in testing of payroll system or process changes and enhancements.

  • Ongoing review and update of standard operating procedures (SOPs) involving US payroll processing; Ensure change in procedures are properly documented.

  • Identify, recommend, and implement process changes to reduce transactional activities.

  • Identifies customer issues, engages in root-cause problem-solving, and implements solutions to address underlying issues and improve the experience of our payroll customers.

  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of payroll and payroll tax regulations and guidelines.

  • Participate in payroll projects and activities within the payroll team and cross functional department teams, as defined by senior leadership.




Qualifications:


  • Associates degree in Business Administration, Human Resource, Accounting or Finance; or equivalent combination of work experience and education.

  • 3+ years of experience processing payroll for US.

  • 3+ Solid experience with UKG Pro.



Preferences:


  • Must have excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnel.

  • Must be able to organize, prioritize and schedule work effectively.

  • Must have excellent analytical skills.

  • Must have excellent attention to details.

  • Must be a team player; strong collaboration skills to support collective goals.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications;
    proficient in MS Excel.


  • CPC or CPP/FPC certification (preferred but not required).

  • Hybrid in Davidson, NC
