Description

Lipscomb University is seeking a Web Specialist to help manage and maintain its website, ensuring it delivers an engaging, user-friendly and visually appealing experience that aligns with the university's brand and strategic goals. This position supports Lipscomb's digital marketing and communication efforts by collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to create dynamic, accessible and effective web pages, online ads and other digital content. The specialist will also use analytics to monitor site performance, optimize user experience and implement SEO strategies to enhance visibility and engagement.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the university's mission, vision and values.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Oversee daily content updates and general site maintenance to ensure all web pages are functional, accurate and effective.
  • Create user-friendly, visually engaging web pages and assist the digital team in enhancing mobile responsiveness, CMS templates, user engagement and the overall site experience.
  • Manage web content using Lipscomb's content management system (CMS), ensuring updates align with digital marketing goals and SEO strategies.
  • Track and analyze website performance metrics (e.g., traffic patterns, user behavior, bounce rate) using tools like Google Analytics, and provide actionable insights to improve site effectiveness and user engagement.
  • Implement and maintain SEO strategies, including keyword research, on-page optimization and meta tag updates. Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Collaborate with university partners to deliver high-quality web projects. Proactively communicate on project status, follow jobs through to completion and meet established production schedules and deadlines.


Qualifications:



  • Ability to work within an enterprise-level content management system (CMS)
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing and how various platforms work together (e.g., website, organic social media, paid digital advertising, email marketing)
  • Experience with or interest in using SEO and web analytics tools such as SEMrush, Google Analytics, Google Search Console or Data Studio
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Bachelor's degree in web design, digital media, English, communications, marketing or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in website content management, web design or a related area.
