About the role

The Financial Reporting Accountant participates in the company's accounting close and reporting cycles. You will perform technical accounting research and documentation, assist with analyzing company results for both internal and external parties, and contribute to projects within the finance department as needed. You bring an understanding of the fundamentals of accounting and reporting requirements with an ability and interest in taking on complex tasks.

Your responsibilities



  • You will participate in thestatutoryaccounting close cycle; preparing journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and/or reporting files.
  • You will be preparing other deliverables, with an increasing understanding of assigned areas and tasks.
  • You will research and document accounting issues.
  • You will prepare and draft new or updated accounting analyses and policies.

Compensation

Salary Range: $64,200 - $106,900 plus eligibility for the company annual bonus program.

Who You Are:



  • High School Diploma is required, plus a BA/BS in Accounting or related field
  • 2+ years of work-related experience required.
  • CPA or CMA is a plus.
  • Technical accounting Knowledge: work experience with statutory accounting and reporting required; experience in the insurance industry is a plus.
  • Highly organized and skilled at paying attention to details.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, preferred.
