DESCRIPTION OF WORK
-
In this important role, you will be the project lead for IDEA-B federal funding Intermediate Unit (IU) grant application process. Work involves reviewing grant applications and resolving any discrepancies in the data. You will facilitate and plan annual fiscal reviews of intermediate units. This includes analyzing contract budget revisions, amendments, and reports submitted by local education agencies to ensure they are in compliance with statutes and regulations. You will be expected to provide support for the gifted advisor, prepare gifted monitoring budget and memo to Bureau of Budget and Fiscal Management to fund the monitoring and travel, and answer routine gifted questions. Additional duties to include but not limited to:
- Performing administrative functions for Pennsylvania students with disabilities placed in facilities outside of Pennsylvania
- Providing phone assistance to school districts, intermediate units and other Department/Commonwealth personnel regarding out-of-state procedures
- Giving technical assistance to LEAs on guidance of Act 16
- Keeping Bureau website up to date
- Working closely with Press and Communication associates and PDE Web Master
- Preparing responses to correspondence assigned by Assistant Bureau Director and Division Chief

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In-office one (1) day per week-Tuesday, telework four (4) days per week - Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of professional experience in education or educational administration; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
