POSITION SCOPE

The Shop General Laborer is a safety sensitive role responsible for general laborer duties at the operation and perform tasks involving physical labor in preparation of shop projects. The job duties of a general laborer vary. They may include cleaning and preparing a project, loading and delivering materials, and using a variety of tools and machines such as torches, forklifts, levels, scissor lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, and metal forming equipment.

PRIMARY DUTIES



  • Assists with all phases of shop duties including, but not limited to: loading, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various crusher parts, fabrication materials, and equipment.
  • Work as a part of a crew focused on safety to clear and prepare projects.
  • Assist as required in all manual labor aspects of the project as directed by supervisor
  • Knowledge and ability to operate shop equipment, forklifts, sweeper.
  • Handles physically demanding equipment maintenance duties
  • Assist team members in placing fabrication materials, parts, manual labor, and prep work
  • Ability to load and unload equipment, parts, warehouse materials (deliveries, parts, metal, etc.)
  • Safety, Safety, Safety comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards of safety
  • Perform other duties as assigned and assist other craft workers



REQUIREMENTS



  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation to get to and from work
  • Acceptable MVR in accordance with Fisher's Company Vehicle Program policy
  • S.H.A. certificate part 46 or 48 or willingness to obtain certification - company will pay for certification
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check
  • Ability to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions including heat above100 degrees, cold, rain, and snow
  • Ability to operate equipment is preferred
  • Ability to repeatedly walk up and down steep and rough terrain carrying construction materials
  • Punctuality
  • Basic knowledge of welding and using a cutting torch is preferred
  • Must be a team player who is willing and able to learn
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Extended out-of-town travel will be required
