The Accounting Analyst will be responsible for material transfer processing, yard and inventory reconciliations, and understanding COPAS concepts. This position requires strong attention to detail and research skills, as well as a high degree of accuracy. The position also requires effective communication skills as well as the ability to pick up on new concepts quickly.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processing and reviewing inventory transfers for well and yard equipment and fuel
- Utilize inventory module to track inventory
- Working with Materials Coordinator, field personnel, and vendors to resolve any material transfer discrepancies
- Prepare and distribute monthly and quarterly inventory reports as needed including LCM and Obsolescence reviews
- Assist in conducting physical yard inventories and the reconciliation of yard inventories to the inventory system
- Collaborate with Operations on needed information and assisting with the preparation of yearly inventory write-offs
- Assist with inventory discrepancies for joint venture audits
- Investigate and understand unusual or unexpected results
- Reconcile inventory yard balances with actual inventory yard balances reported by the Materials Coordinator and Vendors
- Perform quarterly analysis of SiteView to inventory
- Research TA/PA wells for inventory credits
- Other duties as assigned
- Periodic travel will be required
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BBA or BS)
Preference in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or similar discipline
- Five (5) years of Oil and Gas accounting experience
- Five (5) or more years of demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three (3) years or more in a joint interest accounting, inventory and/or joint venture accounting
- SAP experience preferred
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Good problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to operate both independently and as part of a team
- Flexible regarding workload and priorities
- Ability to pick up on new concepts quickly
- Effective communication skills to work with all levels of the organization
