Job Description

NetImpact Strategies is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to manage and maintain NCUA's IT infrastructure, ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient operation of enterprise systems. You will oversee deployment, configuration, and support of servers, applications, and emerging technologies, collaborating across IT teams to align infrastructure with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

    Manage, maintain, and coordinate the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and applications.
  • Oversee the deployment, configuration, and support of IT systems to ensure performance, reliability, and security, leveraging vSphere, cloud service providers, and appliances.
  • Administer and manage Microsoft Servers and Azure Cloud Services across multiple availability zones and physical locations.
  • Perform regular updates, backups, and troubleshooting to maintain system integrity and high availability.
  • Deliver and manage unified role-based access across IT services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support projects, initiatives, and system integrations, while providing technical expertise.
  • Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, security frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in security assessments, compliance audits, and risk management activities.
  • Continuously research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies to improve infrastructure efficiency and scalability.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and training to junior IT staff.
  • Ensure the IT infrastructure is scalable, secure, and efficient, supporting both current and future organizational needs.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and operational guidelines.
  • Implement and manage security measures to protect IT infrastructure against threats.
  • Monitor system performance, proactively addressing issues to minimize downtime.
  • Lead Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) automation development in support of PI Ops initiatives.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution to ensure organizational resilience.
  • Act as an IT consultant by providing guidance on trends, risks, and industry best practices.
  • Manage and maintain M365 Conditional Access Policies to enforce secure access and compliance.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years leading enterprise-level systems administration
  • Proven expertise in PowerShell, Azure DevOps/DevSecOps, Terraform/Scripting, and automating server builds
  • Strong skills in maintaining cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), virtualization, and identity management
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to drive technical projects and mentor team members

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator, CompTIA Network+, VMware Certified Professional
  • Experience in federal or public-sector IT environments
  • Familiarity with cloud security, disaster recovery, and compliance standards
  • Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code and automation best practices
