JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for safeguarding the organization's data and ensuring its ability to recover from data loss and cyber-attacks. This role involves working on a team developing, implementing and managing data protection strategies, including backup and recovery systems, and developing technology solutions and plans for restoring critical systems and data after a cyber incident. Essentially, they work to minimize risks, prevent data loss, and enable swift recovery in the event of a data loss or cyber-attack event.

JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  1. Collaborate with IT teams, security personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive approach to data protection and cyber recovery.
  2. Contribute to the design and implementation of data protection strategies, including backup and recovery systems, encryption, and associated automation.
  3. Contribute to the development and maintenance of cyber recovery plans, including incident response procedures, restoration playbooks, and regular testing of recovery processes.
  4. Work on detailed technical system design, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of data protection and cyber recovery systems and technologies.
  5. Execute day-to-day operations of data protection and recovery systems, including implementing new backups when requested, troubleshooting issues, running restores, managing capacity, and deploying upgrades and patches.
  6. Regularly monitor systems for anomalies, test recovery processes, and ensure the effectiveness of data protection measures.
  7. Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations & audits.
  8. Define and develop governance processes for maintaining and enforcing technical standards for data protection and cyber recovery systems.
  9. Demonstrate the company's core competencies and values held within.

JOB SCOPE:

The incumbent works as a member of a team to complete job responsibilities. The incumbent resolves problems that are varied and moderately to very complex. Works under limited supervision with independence and general latitude to make commitments with occasional need to confer with management. The incumbent understands when to escalate an issue to the next higher level and ensures that decisions consider the full implications (business, legal, and competitive) to both the company and the customer.

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is 95k-120k. Specific offers take into account a candidate's education, experience and skills, as well as the candidate's work location and internal equity. This position is also eligible for health insurance, 401k and bonus opportunity.
