What You'll Do

As the Color Lab Supervisor, you'll lead the production and development of color concentrates used in our manufacturing process. From color matching to supervising team members and maintaining inventory, you'll play a key role in ensuring product quality and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Safety

  • Champion a safety-first culture aligned with Silgan Dispensing's Safety Vision, Values, and Principles.

  • Actively promote safety standards, lead by example, and coach team members on safe work practices.

  • Ensure a safe, organized, and productive environment for all Color Lab operations.

Color Production Management

  • Oversee the full color matching and concentrate production process.

  • Approve or adjust color concentrates before release to molding, ensuring compliance with Silgan Dispensing standards.

  • Manufacture production and sample color chips using plastic injection molding techniques.

Scheduling & Operations

  • Review molding schedules and coordinate color production to meet tight deadlines and shipment schedules.

  • Order and manage raw materials (pigments, additives, parts) required for operations.

  • Schedule deliveries of raw materials and manage inventory levels to optimize supply without waste.

Team Management & Development

  • Assign daily tasks to Color Lab personnel using a team-based, productivity-focused approach.

  • Lead department meetings focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Manage performance, discipline, PTO requests, and annual performance reviews.

Inventory & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate inventory records of pigments, additives, and supplies.

  • Ensure proper recycling, reuse, or disposal of leftover materials.

  • Work closely with Product Stewardship to ensure compliance with FDA and other regulatory requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales and Engineering to provide technical support on colorants and materials.

  • Participate in production meetings and collaborate with sourcing teams and vendors on pricing and supply solutions.

What You'll Bring
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in color matching, formulation, or pigment management

  • Proven experience managing production schedules and meeting critical deadlines

  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Familiarity with FDA compliance and materials testing is a plus
