Tax Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance & Reporting

* Prepare and review corporate tax returns at all levels (federal, state, and local)

* Ensure timely payment of estimated taxes

* Resolve notices from tax authorities

* Maintain accurate records, workpapers, and reconcile asset listings

State & Local Compliance

* File personal property renditions and ensure required payments

* Maintain business licenses and complete annual reports

* Oversee multi-state tax filings, renewals, and unclaimed property compliance

Financial Analysis & Internal Controls

* Reconcile tax-related general ledger accounts

* Support internal tax controls and procedures

* Partner with accounting teams on tax-related reporting for audits and financial statements

Continuous Improvement & Strategic Input

* Stay up-to-date on evolving tax laws and regulations

* Document internal tax procedures and best practices

* Identify and recommend tax planning strategies

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

* 3+ years of experience in corporate or public tax accounting

* Strong understanding of corporate income tax and financial reporting

* Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Excel

* Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

* Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions

* High level of integrity and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

* CPA certification or actively pursuing

* Master's degree in Accounting

* Public accounting experience
