Position Overview
Green Bay Packaging is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our Accounting team. This role focuses on accounts payable and receivable, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. They perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and assist in the preparation of budgets and forecast that align with business goals. Additionally, the role involves managing internal controls, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and a passion for continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage local accounts receivable. Monitor past due accounts and take appropriate measures to ensure timely collection.
  • Daily customer invoicing. Ensure all dispatches are invoiced timely and accurately.
  • Assisting with month-end closing and journal entries.
  • Collaborating with plant management to effectively monitor financial performance against budget and operational goals.
  • Reviewing production costs and product line profitability and suggesting improvements.
  • Participating in inventory analyses and reconciliations, ensuring accurate inventory valuation and accounting.
  • Assisting in capital asset management and maintaining fixed asset ledgers.
  • Assist with hourly plant payroll and support other accounting functions as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of general accounting experience, including month-end close and fixed asset management, preferably in Manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience using Microsoft Excel
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • High ethical standards and ability to work independently

Education
Bachelors of Accounting (required)
Experience
3 years: Microsoft Office - particularly Excel (required)
2 - 5 years: General Accounting in manufacturing environment. (required)
