About the Opportunity

The Senior Lead, HR Business Partner will act as a strategic partner to WeWork's Community organization to drive growth, increase talent efficiency, strengthen people capabilities and enable scale across the business. This HR Business Partner role is based in New York and will work closely with people managers and employees across the Region. The ideal candidate is an HR professional with broad generalist experience, who is confident and capable of delivering impactful results in the areas of engagement, employee relations, manager development, talent management and total rewards. The Senior Lead, HR Business Partner must be able to effectively coach and influence people leaders, and assist the business in various talent areas such as recruiting, performance management, talent development. This position will report into the Senior Director, HR Business Partner.

In this role, you'll:

  • Act as a partner, trusted advisor, coach, and consultant for leaders, managers, and employees.

  • Actively educate and provide strategic solutions to the business on employee retention, performance management, conflict resolution, compensation, promotion readiness, policy compliance, employment law, and separations.

  • Attend and frequently contribute to client leadership team meetings to be aware and aligned with the business' challenges and goals of the group.

  • Works directly with managers to support them in effectively managing their teams and managing performance.

  • Take ownership of employee concerns and follow up with a resolution or closing comments.

  • Partner with People Operations to expedite employee questions/concerns (i.e. payroll, benefits, leaves, compensation, global mobility, learning, etc).

  • Ensure that HR systems are up to date and accurate for proper reporting.

  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure our recruitment strategy is in accordance with the organization's needs.

  • Utilize WeWork People policies and know where to find them; use them as a guide for decisions while problem solving in ambiguous situations.

  • Build and maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures company compliance. Maintain compliance with company policy and local employment law.

About You

We'd love to hear from you if you meet the qualifications below:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Human Resources or related field is preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years experience in generalist HR capacity -- Solid understanding for all of the disciplines within HR: Employee Relations, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, HR Systems, HR Operations, Employee Engagement, and Organizational Development.

  • At least 2 years experience partnering with business managers and leaders in a dynamic business setting.

  • Experience with Workday, Salesforce, Tableau, GSuite preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information and communicate with all levels of management; high-quality document and report preparation. Has the ability to determine what level of confidentiality is needed when approached with a concern.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and is able to work well under pressure to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must remain positive and calm especially in times of uncertainty; be an example for employees at all levels.

  • Nurtures and promotes a culture of inclusion and diversity.

  • Is empathetic while listening to employees' concerns and gives constructive feedback when appropriate.

  • Ability to approach and consider a problem without rushing to a solution. Able to identify patterns in situations and solve problems in complex situations using creative, conceptual and inductive reasoning.

  • Has experience supporting multiple states and /or countries and has basic knowledge about federal and local labor laws. Stays up to date on changing policies/laws.

  • Resilient and adapts quickly as things change; mainly works independently and is self-assured with decisions. Tolerance for ambiguity; willingness to live with the discomfort that comes from change. Can decide and act without having the total picture. Can handle risk and uncertainty.

  • Has an opinion and the confidence to express it. Has the ability to speak directly, honestly, and with respect in difficult situations.

  • Strong project management skills and knowledge of Microsoft office.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Pay:$82,000 to $110,000 annually

Incentive Compensation:WeWork employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan specific to their role. Your recruiter will detail what incentive plan is applicable to this specific role. WeWork incentive plans are subject to the terms of the applicable incentive compensation plan, which will be made available to you after commencing employment. WeWork reserves the right to amend its incentive plans, and nothing in this job requisition or any other document creates a right to a specific incentive plan payment.

Benefits:Full-time employees are eligible for comprehensive benefits (subject to the terms of applicable plans/policies/agreements, which will be made available to you after commencing employment), including: 20 days of PTO, approximately 13 paid holidays, and 80 hours of paid sick time per full calendar year; 16 weeks paid parental leave; competitive healthcare benefits; 401k plan; and life and AD&D insurance.
