Corporate Physical Security Specialist

ON SITE - Lewisville, TX

$80,000 to $85,000 DOE

Reporting to the Office of Emergency Management's Director of Operations, the Corporate Physical Security Specialist is responsible for analyzing, developing, and supporting programs and initiatives that safeguard people, property, and assets across all company facilities. This role will focus on ensuring the effectiveness of physical security systems, access controls, incident response coordination, and executive protection support. The role also maintains a collaborative, dotted-line reporting relationship with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to support and align physical security operations with enterprise data protection and insider threat mitigation efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a robust corporate physical security program to include policies, standards, and guidelines related to physical security, executive protection, and investigation programs.
  • Serve as the enterprise lead for 24/7 risk awareness, analysis, and response recommendations to GMR ground, air, and support operations nationwide.
  • Provide real-time support during incidents, disasters, and crisis events from the GMR National Command Center.
  • Direct the information and intelligence collection, analysis, and reporting activities across physical, reputational, and emergency management risks, and collaborate with cyber security.
  • Oversee the development, approval, and distribution of executive and operational briefings, threat advisories, and incident updates to stakeholders.
  • Monitor and manage physical access control systems (PACS), video surveillance (CCTV), intrusion detection systems (IDS), and visitor management systems.
  • Inform and support life safety operations, including the safety and security of all response personnel, by helping to prevent future attacks or escalated impacts.
  • Provides oversight of the GMR Bridge Desk operations that is the national escalation point for GMR.
  • Provide oversight of the GMR Emergency Notification System to alert and notify GMR personnel to scripted scenarios in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Provide situational awareness and coordination of events occurring worldwide across GMR.
  • Conduct physical security risk assessments of facilities, data centers, and high-value asset locations.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of physical security measures for new facilities or renovations.
  • Investigate security incidents, coordinate response efforts, and document findings and mitigation actions.
  • Partner with Facilities, HR, and Legal to manage employee terminations, workplace violence prevention, and travel safety protocols.
  • Support the development and testing of emergency response and crisis management plans, including evacuation and lockdown drills.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable physical security regulations and industry standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, ISO 27001 Annex A.11).

Data Security Alignment (Dotted-Line to CISO):

  • Collaborate with the cybersecurity and GRC teams to ensure physical controls align with regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, PCI DSS, NIST).
  • Support insider threat investigations by correlating physical access logs with cybersecurity incident response.
  • Identify physical-to-logical security gaps (e.g., unsecured server rooms or unauthorized physical access to data handling areas).
  • Participate in cross-functional security audits and reviews involving physical and logical controls.
  • Provide situational intelligence and risk reporting to the CISO for enterprise-level security situational awareness.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to access/enter government buildings/properties to include military bases as needed for job duties.
  • 3-5 years of experience in physical security, security operations, prior military, or law enforcement.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Familiarity with physical security standards and frameworks (e.g., CPTED, ISO/IEC 27001, NIST SP 800-171).
  • Corporate work environment preferred.
  • Strong analytical, incident investigation and report writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Must have an acceptable driver history as determined by the company and outlined in the National Safety Risk Manual.
  • This position may require occasional travel to remote or high-security locations.
  • Must be available for after-hours incident response coordination, as needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle crisis situations effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of cyber security principles.
  • Solid technical background with hands-on experience in security technologies, including access control systems, video management systems, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence others, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey security information and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • A proactive and analytical mindset with the ability to identify, analyze, and solve complex security challenges.
  • A strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and individuals.
  • A self-motivated and self-reliant approach to work, with a strong sense of ethics and values based on integrity and trust.
  • Experience collaborating with information security or IT teams.
  • Understanding of data classification, access control, and insider threat frameworks.
  • Certifications such as CPP, PSP (ASIS), or CISSP preferred. (for physical/cybersecurity overlap).
  • Disaster response, incident command system experience preferred.
  • Complete the following ICS courses within 1 year of hire:

a. ICS 100.b - Introduction to Incident Command.

b. ICS 200.b - Basic Incident Command System.

c. ICS 300 - Intermediate Incident Command System.

d. ICS 400 - Advanced Incident Command System.

e. ICS 700.a - NIMS Introduction.

f. ICS 800.b - National Response Framework, Introduction.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in security management, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security or related field or commensurate amount of Public Safety and/or Military experience.
