Department Information
Belonging & Student Support serves and collaborates with all students and student communities, while sustaining and expanding capacity to serve any student who benefits from co-curricular support to facilitate their pathway to degree. Staff routinely review student data on educational outcomes, health and wellness, belonging, and engagement to identify programmatic and service priorities that can make a positive difference in students' experiences while at Georgia Tech.

Job Summary

The Senior Director of Belonging & Student Support will provide strategic leadership and oversight for all aspects of departmental administration, including programming, personnel management, operations, and financial performance. This role is also responsible for advancing co-curricular initiatives by applying established student development theories, models of student learning, and evidence-based best practices to enrich the educational experience and promote student success. Responsible for setting employee and/or group goals, determining the organizational structure necessary to meet these goals, evaluating employee and/or group performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Provide strategic leadership for the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of key programs and initiatives that advance the mission of Belonging & Student Support.

Job Duty 2 -
Build and lead a high-performing team of professional staff responsible for delivering administrative, operational, and programmatic services that enhance the student experience. Provide direction for recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, development, and performance evaluation, while fostering strong partnerships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to advance departmental and institutional goals.

Job Duty 3 -
Collaborate with the Leadership Team to define and implement the department's programming vision, fostering an environment that promotes experiential learning, well-being, intercultural competency, innovation, and entrepreneurship across science, engineering, art, business, and technology.

Job Duty 4 -
Lead and strengthen cross-campus collaborations to support and advance the Institute's vision, mission, and strategic priorities.

Job Duty 5 -
Oversee efforts to advise, mentor, and promote development and learning for students and student organizations.

Job Duty 6 -
Lead and coordinate programs and initiatives that promote student belonging, mattering, and community-building, creating meaningful connections between students, alumni, faculty, and staff to enhance the overall student experience.

Job Duty 7 -
Serve as a subject matter expert on promoting belonging for undergraduate and graduate students. Lead the development and delivery of training and professional development for faculty and staff to establish and advance policies, practices, and strategies that foster an inclusive and supportive environment for all student communities.

Job Duty 8 -
Collaborate with colleges, schools, divisions, and departments to enhance the co-curricular aspects of Belonging and Student Support in non-instructional settings. Oversee the integration of activities, events, exhibits, and performances, ensuring they align with institutional goals and promote a cohesive student experience.

Job Duty 9 -
Lead initiatives to secure funding and sponsorships for Belonging & Student Support. Build partnerships with donors and community organizations, and collaborate with campus partners to strengthen fundraising efforts and ensure lasting impact.

Job Duty 10 -
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience
Ten or more years of relevant experience, including five or more years of supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree.

Preferred Experience
Experience with assessment, evaluation, and quality improvement. Experience with fundraising efforts and successful grant writing.

Salary range: $127,257.00 - $150,000.00
