Construction Intern - Summer 2026

Walbridge is looking for interns that are passionate about construction! Our internship program provides hands-on experience and mentoring designed to launch your career in construction and engineering. Interns engage in meaningful work assignments either in the field or at our corporate and regional offices, gaining exposure to real-world challenges and professional development opportunities. Interns are assigned to one of the following areas for the entirety of the summer: Estimating, Scheduling, Field Operations, Design Management, Cost, Technology and more.

Location

Various project sites or corporate and regional office across the U.S.

• Contribute to construction projects while working side by side with experienced team members.
• Collaborate with experienced professionals to make an impact.
• Engage with leadership and Walbridge company culture at a two-day orientation at Walbridge Headquarters in Detroit, MI.
• Explore through interactive learning sessions and cross-functional networking with senior staff and trade partners.
• Participate in a goal- oriented performance appraisal including self-assessment and supervisor feedback.
• Deliver a reflection presentation summarizing key takeaways and feedback for program improvement.

• Must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture.
• Be passionate about construction, engineering, or related fields.
• Have ability to travel.
• Have strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Be eager to learn, collaborate, and contribute to a dynamic team environment.

• Previous internship, construction, or military experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience through projects, competitions, student organizations or volunteer work.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced dynamic environments.
