Cross-Country Head coach (FY25-26)

Job Summary: HACC, Central Pennsylvania's Community College is seeking a passionate Head Cross Country Coach to build our cross-country program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing athletes of all skill levels, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship, and promoting a culture of excellence both on and off the course. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to student-athlete development.

Minimum Qualifications:

H.S. Diploma or equivalent and 2 years coaching experience. *Or a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Such as those listed above.

Licensing Requirements: Valid driver's license.

Hiring Range: Flat Rate $5,000 stipend

Preferred Qualifications:

-Previous coaching experience in cross country, track, or distance running preferred.
-Knowledge of training methodologies, race tactics, and injury prevention.
-Strong leadership, communication, and motivational skills.
-CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
-Clearance on all required background checks.

Job Specific Task List:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive cross-country training program for athletes.
• Plan and conduct daily practices, focusing on endurance, speed, technique, and race strategy.
• Attend all meets, invitationals, and championship events
• Coordinate race-day logistics.
• Understand district and NJCAA eligibility rules & regulations.
• Recruitment & Community Engagement
• Actively recruit and retain student-athletes for the program.
• Build relationships with feeder schools and local running clubs.
• Represent the program at school and community events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
