Mutual of Omaha is seeking a talented Engineer for full lifecycle development of process layer APIs. This unique opportunity is ideal for an engineer who is passionate about working with a team focused on implementing API-led architecture to modernize company infrastructure to achieve strategic objectives and better support our customers.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:



  • Estimated Salary (Levels have variable responsibilities and qualifications):





  • Engineer II: $100,000 - $125,000, plus annual bonus





  • Engineer III: $120,000 - $145,000, plus annual bonus





  • 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match

WHAT YOU'LL DO:



  • Utilize DevOps practices to implement RESTful APIs that aligns with prescribed target architecture and expose core business functions.





  • Create and maintain API specifications and utilize schema-based modeling to provide intuitive integrations for use by frontend and backend developers.





  • Design and implement adapters for legacy systems using modern coding practices to expedite strategic goals.





  • Support and advise business analysts on automated testing.





  • Get to know the supported business area(s), have an awareness of related objectives and challenges.





  • Occasionally play multiple roles (e.g. individual contributor, lead, teacher, mentor).




WHAT YOU'LL BRING:



  • 5+ years of experience in application development using Spring Boot, Java, and TypeScript





  • Expertise in specification-driven development using OpenAPI (OAS) or RAML





  • Proficiency in unit testing, version control, and automated testing frameworks





  • Collaborative attitude and a willingness to work with team members with a drive to pick up new tech through research and investigation.

  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.
