The On-Air Coordinator for Fox Broadcasting is responsible for the final daily quality control of our Ad Revenue, which averages 2.5 to 3 billion dollars per year for FOX. As On-Air Coordinator, you will be responsible for all issues and errors of these Ads daily and will have to perform these quality control tasks on strict daily timelines (hours to minutes before they go to broadcast air). You will instruct a large team of engineers on what tasks need to be prioritized to make sure all daily deadlines are met. You will also assist in Direct Live FOX shows and will be responsible for the timing and airing of all elements, including commercials and promos during these live shows, as well as the coordination of timing between shows. As an Assistant Director, you will speak directly to the AD and Director of our Live shows for exact timings to the second.

As On-Air Coordinator, you will need to speak to multiple departments throughout the Fox organization to explain the issues and errors their department created in their media. For example, when they catch a wrong date on our promo, you will discuss that issue with the promo department and how to fix it, and what timeline it needs to be fixed by. You are ultimately responsible for making sure all elements (program, commercial, and promo) that make up the whole of our broadcast are assembled and ready for air seven days a week.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Quality control over On-Air Programming

  • Coordinate all aspects of our live programming, from coordinating with the show to assisting with directing the live shows from the broadcast center

  • Oversee transitions between day parts, such as the transition between Sports and Prime

  • Create schedules to send to affiliates and ensure captioning is booked for all sporting events

  • Provide coverage for the Program Services Coordinator, taking in deliveries from shows and maintaining correct information about each show

  • Move commercials to avoid conflicts between advertisers

  • Spot technical issues with shows, commercials, or promos

  • Monitor world events to ensure FOX has sensitivity to current events

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience in cable or broadcast operations

  • Experience with live television shows

  • Superior oral and written communication skills

  • Strong mathematical and superior reasoning skills

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Strong computer skills, including experience with email, the internet, and various word processing and Excel programs

  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills

  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under daily time constraints in a high-pressure environment

  • Ability to work any day of the week, including weekends

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $25.75-28.37 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
