ANALYST I - COST

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE ANALYST I - COST:

  • Assists in reviewing routine forecasts in manufacturing, sales, finance, general business conditions and other related areas as instructed.
  • Under direct supervision, responsible for conducting or assisting in the documentation of simple to moderate financial analysis projects.
  • Reviews, for accuracy, routine financial and business-related reports/analyses in such areas as financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital, and investments.
  • Utilizing PC and/or mainframe-based systems and software, compiles and prepares reports, graphs and charts of data developed.
  • May assist in the month end closing process.
  • Analyze, reconcile, report, and prepare journal entries.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED FOR THE ANALYST I - COST:

  • Four-year college degree in accounting, finance required.
  • Entry level position 0-1 years of experience.

PREFERRED FOR THE ANALYST I - COST:

  • Basic knowledge of accounting and financial theory.
  • Basic knowledge of financial analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of Carpenter's accounting systems a plus
  • Ability to operate a computer workstation.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
  • Ability to work under frequently changing priorities.
  • Ability to work under frequently changing priorities.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
