SUMMARY
Responsible for the design, development and oversight of comprehensive claims management and consulting for professional solutions, financial institutions and cyber account teams. Oversees professionals providing clients with in depth claims expertise through consultation, advocacy, and administration.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


* Provides strategic leadership for Financial Institutions, Management and Professional Solutions and Cyber teams while aligning operations with the teams' overall objectives.


* Establishes and maintains best-in-class claims assignment, handling protocols, procedures, and guidelines.


* Develops and maintains relationships with external partners and insurers at the highest levels to influence best outcomes.


* Oversees, mentors, and trains a team of claims professionals.


* Responsible for overall team performance and budget, provides direction to claims team, including motivating/mentoring staff, providing employee training and development, conducting performance reviews and performing disciplinary action as appropriate.


* Prepares and presents to prospective clients (RFP presentations) and to executive leadership and board members of clients.


* Tracks substantive regulatory and legislative developments, and case law impacting external clients, and tracks internal and external insurance coverage trends across all division supported products and industries.


* Monitors internal claims to ensure assistance and additional resources are allocated appropriately to outstanding claims.


* Researches and provides consultative leadership on technical claims and related issues.


* Analyzes and identifies claims and legal trends to include in a monthly newsletter.


* Produces a high quality monthly newsletter with claims and legal trends relevant to the coverage committee, internal teams, and clients.


* Prepares and delivers regular training for internal teams regarding relevant developments and key insights.


* Collaborates with leadership and brokers to enhance brokerage insurance products and support.


* Analyzes claims trends and loss data to inform the division's strategies and offerings.


* Leads complex or high-profile claims/clients.


* Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.


* Represents the organization at industry events and conferences.


* Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information).


QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE


Bachelor's Degree in related field


Juris Doctor from an accredited law school


Twelve (12) or more years of related experience in claims at a law firm, carrier, or broker


Four (4) or more years leadership experience managing teams in a complex, technical environment


SKILLS


Advanced knowledge in complex and evolving regulatory and claims environment in various market segments including financial institutions, management and professional solutions, and cyber


Advanced knowledge in all insurance policy forms, coverages, and emerging claim trends


Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Excellent presentation skills


Excellent leadership, problem solving, and time management skills


Advanced analytical skills


Excellent planning, organizational and prioritization skills


Ability to develop and manage good working relationships


Ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences


Proficient in Microsoft Office products
