Provide comprehensive eye exams, emergency follow up care, glaucoma co-management, vision rehabilitation services, and same day service care. Prescribe eyeglasses or contact lenses as needed.

Position Highlights

Scope of Practice

  • Perform comprehensive eye exams and contact lens evaluations
  • Diagnose and manage a full spectrum of ocular diseases and conditions
  • Prescribe corrective lenses and therapeutic treatments
  • Provide urgent and emergency eye care when needed
  • Exercise autonomy in clinical decision making
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the system
  • Ensure continuity of care for patients throughout the system

Practice Environment

  • Outpatient clinic within a large, academic medical center
  • Serve a diverse patient population with a robust referral base

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited program
  • Licensed (or license-eligible) to practice in Massachusetts
  • Board certified or board eligible in optometry
