Position Title: Electronic Assembly Technician - 2nd Shift

Location: Oldsmar, FL

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM (Overtime available on weekends)


Position Overview

The Electronic Assembly Technician is responsible for performing a variety of electronic and mechanical assembly operations on components, subassemblies, and finished products. This role involves working from diagrams and drawings, assembling complex electronic modules and systems, and ensuring product quality through visual and continuity inspections. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude or soldering experience, attention to detail, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.


Key Responsibilities


  • Perform assembly of electronic and mechanical components such as circuit boards, cables, frames, and modules according to blueprints, schematics, and written instructions.



  • Use hand tools, power tools, jigs, and fixtures to perform assembly and modification work.



  • Conduct continuity and functional checks on in-process and completed assemblies.



  • Disassemble, rework, modify, and reassemble units as required to meet quality or design specifications.



  • Perform quality inspections in accordance with established standards and procedures.



  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring adherence to ESD and safety protocols.



  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to resolve production or design issues.



  • Follow all company policies, safety standards, and documentation requirements.




Required Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent.



  • Ability to read and write in English and follow detailed written or verbal instructions.



  • Mechanical aptitude and experience using basic tools and assembly equipment.



  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and assembly drawings.



  • Experience with hand soldering or willingness to learn.



  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for small component work.




Preferred Qualifications


  • Previous experience in electronic assembly, manufacturing, or related production work.



  • Familiarity with ESD-safe handling procedures.



  • Knowledge of IPC or similar electronic assembly standards.




Additional Details


  • This is a 2nd shift position (Mon-Thurs, 3:30 PM-2:00 AM).



  • Overtime may be required on weekends.



  • Candidates hired for this role must remain on 2nd shift and will not be eligible to transfer to 1st shift.



  • Work environment involves standing for extended periods and working under a microscope when necessary.
