The Manager, Trauma Program oversees trauma program personnel and works closely with the Trauma Medical Director to manage and develop the Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO) Trauma Program. This role provides site-specific leadership and system-level coordination to support program goals and ensure high-quality trauma care. The manager collaborates with trauma program leaders and the trauma registry manager to advance initiatives, maintain regulatory compliance, and improve trauma system performance. In partnership with the site-specific Trauma Medical Director, the manager ensures the program meets verification and designation requirements set by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the American College of Surgeons, as applicable.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Serves as a liaison between the local trauma program and the Trauma Program Director to support and advance local, system-level, and organizational trauma initiatives.
- Participates in State and Regional Emergency Medical and Trauma Services Advisory Council meetings.
- Demonstrates knowledge of trauma care delivery, patient and family support, organizational skills, prioritization, and time management.
- Develops individual goals and actively engages in departmental evaluation and education initiatives; contributes to committee goal setting and outcome tracking.
- Understands and communicates hospital and departmental financial goals. Serves as a resource and trauma services coordinator, advocating for patients and families as active partners in care.
- Collaborates across departments to ensure high-quality trauma care and coordination of services; builds strong partnerships across the organization.
- Leads performance improvement activities, including data analysis, audit reviews, and trend identification. Develops and evaluates policies and initiatives to support clinical quality, safety, and organizational goals.
- Maintains the hospital's trauma registry and policies in compliance with regulatory standards from the American College of Surgeons, the State of Colorado, and other agencies.
- Supports research and quality improvement efforts, including research goal setting, scholarly contributions, IRB submissions, and data collection.
- Engages in ongoing professional development and education. Participates in professional organizations, advocacy, and efforts to build a healthy and supportive work environment.
- Ensures follow-up with referring institutions and supports the trauma prevention program through use of registry and community data sources.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Must complete 12 hours of trauma related nursing continuing education annually.
- Experience: Five (5) years of clinical experience in a pediatric setting, including direct care of trauma patients
- Certification(s): BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire.
- Licensure(s): Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) License
Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $105,046.99 to $157,570.49.
